D'Aversa the favorite to coach Sampdoria, behind him Pirlo and Iachini: the latest

Sampdoria are looking for the right person to replace Claudio Ranieri on their bench. There have been positive contacts in that regard with Roberto D'Aversa. The sides will meet on Wednesday, when the latest meeting will take on contractual aspects. The former Parma coach is the favorite at the moment to take over at Sampdoria.

Pirlo remains a live option, so does Iachini. For Pirlo there should be another contact made on Tuesday, Iachini is also on the list of candidates and there should be contacts made. The most recent developments show that D'Aversa remains in pole position over the competition.

In the club's directoral ranks, after a positive meeting on Monday morning there has been progress made in extending the contract of sporting director Carlo Osti. 

The situation in the scounting area is not so well defined. Riccardo Pecini will take time to decide if he will remain with the blucerchiati, or accept Spezia as his new destination.
