Chelsea, progress made with Conte on a contract extension: latest

Antonio Conte is closer to signing a new contract including a raise, after positive results coming out of meetings on Sunday with Chelsea CEO Marina Granovskaia. There is shared a good feeling between both sides now, with Conte, having returned from his holiday, currently in Turin. A new contract for Conte could be worth between 9.5-10 million pounds sterling per season, without a release clause in the deal. Later this week the conclusive meeting with Roman Abramovich could come to finalize a deal to make Conte's extension official.
