Chelsea, Morata:”Sarri surprised me, he’s a genius”
After a very difficult season under Antonio Conte, things are looking up for Alvaro Morata. The former Real Madrid striker has scored five goals in eleven matches at a Chelsea and he’s back with the Spanish national team, Morata described his turn around in a recent interview with Gazzetta dello Sport:”On one hand the twins being born was an immense joy, on the other the exclusion from the World Cup caused me to see a psychologist. It was a tough period, from some things you don’t recover with a few goals”
A manager change at Chelsea helped Morata get back on track:”They told me about Sarri playing beautiful football, also good at individual relationships. The nice thing is you don’t have to wait for something to happen, an injury or a misunderstanding, to speak to him in a significant way. I remember one of the first times we met, he asked me what I thought of independence for Basque region. He surprised me, it’s nice to have a relationship like that, when being serious is needed he’s a true general. But if we can have fun, he gives you a stomach ache because he makes you laugh so much, he’s a genius”
