Cassano on his time at Real Madrid: “I was in the greatest club of all time, but I made too many mistakes”

Antonio Cassano talked about his period in Spain with Real Madrid in an interview with Canal Plus held by his former teammate in Roma Olivier Dacourt: “I had arrived in the best club in history of football, I could have stayed there for a long time, winning lots of trophies and becoming part of football history. But I followed my instinct and made too many mistakes. I had to replace Figo and Owen and I was only 23, that means that I was a great player. I met two of the best players ever in Madrid, like Zidane and Ronaldo, many would have paid money to play in that team. Sometimes I didn't play and one day I started yelling and swearing at Capello because he had subbed me off. So I left, after a year spent arguing with everyone.”
