Caldara's interview between Atalanta, Juventus, Italy, Gasperini and "the fascinating game against Borussia Dortmund. Being opposed to Aubameyang will be exciting"

The young nerazzurro defender, that got purchased by Juventus last summer, has given an interview to Il Corriere dello Sport about the first part of the season and the coming game against Lazio: "Our European campaign has been great so far: we didn't expect to end at the first place but game after game we became aware of our strengths and showed them. We got back to winning an away game in Serie A last Tuesday, if we want to finish the season at a high position we must win more away games. Lazio? They've slowed down in the table but they aren't in crisis. Against Torino, without the episode, they would have won. They're stronger than they were last year. Is Immobile's absence an advantage? I don't know, Caicedo is bigger and more difficult to follow. Immobile is Immobile, but Lazio have good back-ups. Luis Alberto is the right bound between the phases and he knows how to create problems to the opponent. Inzaghi is a good coach, teaches football well, I'm expecting a competitive game because both teams will want to play, with a 3-men defense".

The objective remains the same: "Get qualified again for an European cup. We're competing with six other teams but I think we could finish at the 6th or 7th place. We must avoid to concede stupid goals. It will be a fascinating game against Dortmund, I'm glad we get to play against opponents that strong, a team that got out of the Champions League. Being opposed to Aubameyang will be exciting, he's really strong. I remained at Atalanta to grow and face some of Europe's best strikers. That experience will be useful next year".

Next year, where Caldara will leave Bergamo to play for Juventus: "I'm not thinking about it yet: I'll work in the coming months to improve because I want to be ready when I get in Turin. It will be an important step for me and I can't fail. It's been a bit strange to face Juve three times, but it's nice to face the strongest teams. Is Barzagli my favorite? In the last seasons he showed to be the most complete central defender of Serie A".

In the end he also speaks about the Italian national team: "After Italy-Sweden, I felt bad and understood how football is important for our country. We must get back up from this, all together, and get to the next Euro decided to show that we're Italy. Am I ready to become an important piece of the team. I wish so. Football changes every day though, I'm not looking for it yet. I'm looking to improve and hope to be called up for the next friendlies. I owe Gasperini so much, he made me grow in both physical and tactical aspects. I know life will change but I've already had two experiences and since that year, I'm not living with my parents anymore. Being away from Bergamo won't be a problem".
