Brighton, Schelotto:”I couldn’t have asked for more with my start here”
Brighton. Sun, sea, the Premier League and a new project in the world of fashion. Ezequiel Schelotto couldn’t have asked for more when it comes to his adventure in England:”I really like the city, I must admit I didn’t expect it to be so beautiful and fascinating! There are many Italians, Spaniards and Portuguese. There’s the sea and a lot of restuarants and parks. I’m hardly ever home. There’s a park in front of the house and I go there often with my daughter” he said in an exclusive interview with GianlucaDiMarzio.com
There’s just one problem:”With the English language it’s going very poorly. I still don’t speak it well. I understand it pretty well and when it comes time for dialogue, especially on the pitch, I try to make myself be understood in some way. Luckily there are a lot of foreign players on the team and we help each other out. The only difficulty is when I go out to eat and I have to order”
Playing for Brighton has been easier than mastering the language:”It was all new: the culture, the climate, football itself. Then I got used to this league which I consider the best in the world. It’s a dream to play in the Premier League, although it would have been better to get here a few years before on my career. I play in the Premier League, my daughter started school and my wife is opening a store: I couldn’t ask for more”
In fact Schelotto’s wife, Gisela Paulucci, is opening a women’s clothing store in Brighton along with two Argentine partners Narela Ortolani and Sebastian Puga:”A few months ago we decided to start this new adventure in the fashion world regarding women’s clothing. We’ll sell brand names known in America and especially South America like Natalia Antolin, Jazmin Chebar and Juanita Jo. We are the first to import them to Europe. The decisive push came from Antonella Roccuzzo and Daniella Seaman, the wives of Messi and Fabregas respectively: when we saw them wearing those labels we decided to launch our store. Antonella should come visit us soon. It would be nice if same thing happened with Fabregas and Messi, it would be nice to know them”
The store is called “Forget Me Not” and will open next Wednesday on Prince Albert Street in Brighton:”All of my teammates will attend, I hope to make these cheap players spend some money!” Schelotto continues while laughing “For the time being I hope that football and fashion stay in separate worlds. Football is my life and I want to fully dedicate to it for a few more years, my wife will handle the store”
Schelotto still follows Italian football:”I’m very happy for Inter, especially for the derby and the Champions. The only thing that makes me sad is seeing my Cesena in Serie D: it’s a place I’ll always carry in my heart. I happened to meet some people from Cesena in Brighton, they thanked me for the two promotions when I played there”. Schelotto is enjoying Brighton between the sun, sea and his new adventure in the world of fashion.
