Brazil, Silva: "Messi always tries to influence the referees."

Do not call it a friendly, as a match between Brazil and Argentina will never be that. After Argentina's victory yesterday, Brazil defender Thiago Silva spoke critically on Leo Messi, who scored the match-winner from the penalty spot.

"He wanted to command the match. He was speaking with the referee and laughing together with him. The referee must put his admiration for the player that Messi is to the side. Messi always tries to convince the referee to blow the whistle in his favor. He always acts like this. We spoke with a couple players that play in Spain and the same thing happens. He tries to control play and influence the referee's decisions."

"He doesn't have this advantage in Champions League because the referees are more difficult. You don't see Messi trying to influence the decisions so much. But in general there are referees that, for admiration, begin to side with him."
