Bearzot Award given to Roberto Mancini: "He is bringing the joy back to the National Team"

Roberto Mancini is the winner of the 9th edition of the National Award “Enzo Bearzot”, succeeding Eusebio Di Francesco, the winner in 2018. The award panel stated in their message: "He loves football played well and with youth, Roberto Mancini is the perfect man to reinstill the joy from the national team back into Italians." The president of the FIGC Gabriele Gravina gave other remarks: " Roberto has taken a new path, one of rebirth, to take over the collective imagination, after the fans were devestated and demoralized by the recent events of the national team. I believe that Roberto Mancini's job and his efforts are not only reflected in the sporting results he achieves, but his attention and concentration on the proccess by which important objectives are achieved. We need to have the enthusiasm back around the Azzurri and Mancini has taken on that goal and that desire."
