Barcelona, Mascherano will renew his contract on Monday: official

Javier Mascherano is set to continue his tenure at Barcelona. Juventus and several other clubs were interested in the Argentine during the transfer window. But in July, word was released that Mascherano had reached an agreement for an extension, and now it's official. The midfielder is ready to sign on for the next three seasons. On Monday October 16 Mascherano will sign the new contract which will last until 2019. Here is the statement released by Barcelona: "The signature for the contract renewal for the first team player Javier Mascherano with Barcelona will take place next Monday October 17, at 13:00, in the club's offices. As already announced, Mascherano's new contract will run until June 30 2019." @ZekeTell
