Atalanta, Gomez: "The Europa League was a big goal for us, the disappoint from our elimination has been huge"
Atalanta's Papu Gomez gave an interview to Sky Sport 24, revealing the impact that elimination from the Europa League has had on the squad. The club captain discussed upcoming matches against Chievo, Parma, and Bologna, which Gomez hopes will give his team some positive momentum: "We must try to get good results to collect some points and improve our place in the standings. To have scored two goals in the last few matches is certainly low. Our team has scored 8 in Sarajevo, 4 against Haifa, 3 at Roma and 4 against Frosinone: so right now we are not playing together as well as in the past years, but now hopefully the ball will find the net. This team's biggest motivation was to play in the Europa League, we prepared ourselves for this and when you lose such a big motivating factor you will be faced with great disappointment. We are hoping now to recoup because we are not in a good place in the league table and that's obviously risking something."
