Amelia on Donnarumma: "These errors can happen in a growth path, due to overconfidence. He's lucky to have a coach like Gattuso"

Solidarity between goalkeepers. Marco Amelia has been one of the first keepers of Allegri's Milan to see the first steps of Gianluigi Donnarumma in the youth rossoneri teams, the current Milan goalkeeper who made two errors that cost his team two goals against Juve in the TIM Cup final. Interviewed by La Gazzetta dello Sport, the former Lecce and Livorno player has talked about Gigio's moment:

"Since he's 15 he's lived in the adults world. He's arrived with a great naturalness to the 100 played games in Serie A. He'll get over this moment too. The errors are normal in a growth path, but they need to be valued without forgetting about the psychological and emotional aspects. He began in Serie A with the unconsciousness of a 16 year old, without expectations that are there now. I don't think Reina could be a problem".

"I don't think those were technical errors but rather caused by an excessive confidence in two simple situations. On Costa's shot, trying to catch the ball, he didn't calculate the difficulty of the situation, caused by the slimy ballon because of the rain. The second error depended of the first one: he tried to block the ball in two times to be safe but without controlling the presence of opponents. How do you come back from a game like this? He's lucky enough to have a coach like Gattuso, that has built himself a winning career with the capacity of overcome difficulties and limits".
