Allegri: "Ajax deserved to win. Future? I've decided I will stay at Juventus"

Massimiliano Allegri commented after Juventus was defeated by Ajax in the Champions League quarterfinal, speaking to Sky Sport: "Ajax earned the result with that second half. We played well in the first half, we caused them problems. But football can also be rough: they scored a fortunate goal, we got nervous, and in the second half we didn't play well. Ajax is a great team but we were unable to be patient, we were disjointed. But you can't give away goals. Of the three we allowed in the tie, we gifted two and a half to them."

Allegri also discussed his future with the club, and the extension negotiations with Agnelli slated for the end of the year: "I've already spoken to the president, I told him my decision. I will stay at Juventus and will speak with the club to work out the future."

Lastly, he discussed Ronaldo: "He gave us a lot in the Champions League and throughout the season. But in a quarter final you need a complete squad. For the last month we've tried to let players recover for Serie A and the Champions League. Today we were missing 4 or 5, mainly to rest those who needed it from the first leg."
