Agnelli: "Serie A match played abroad is definitely a possibility"
At the World Football Summit, Juventus and ECA president Andrea Agnelli spoke on issue of expanding the calendar of European cups matches, and possible changes that could be to come. Agnelli expressed his thoughts on these topics and more: "A Serie A match abroad? It will definitely be considered. In Italy, like other countries, the Super Cup is played abroad, but it is easier to organize since it does not conflict with the calendar. We have a lot of competition with the likes of the NFL and NBA who export their matches. The important thing though is that UEFA puts together a shared structure for everyone at the process is not limited to isolated initiatives. A third European cup? There were discussions of expanding the Europa League from 48 to 64 teams but it's better to reduce it to 32 and to create another competition with the same number of teams."
